Sinking sun swallowed west. The year is gone and I lost my home. A weak embrace and a hollow thirst. I'm sorry we capped off on that note.
You went and changed your name, and never looked back on our plans. But I honestly can't bring myself to blame you. Because distance is demanding, and we should not respond to threats. And I'm dreading the place I'll come back to, and I can tell it will be a long ride back.
Drifting away from second tries, left before I fell down cold.
We compare our pain to others as if drowning could be put on a scale.
Drunkenly stumbling into debates we do not comprehend. Our dance will soon be followed by loneliness and patches of blue sky. And distance is demanding, and we don't have much left to give. And I'm dreading the mess I'll be facing, and I can tell it will be a long ride back to/in the box to/with the records I left behind and the bills that aren't paid. And the pills make me afraid. Masked by my walls. Ignoring the outside because there's left for me despite what fake smiles might imply.
